a bit of an early warning

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

FurtherSound Presents:

::: "SUBliminal" ::: A night of Dubstep, Drum & Bass and Hip Hop

Featuring:

▂ ▃ ▅ ▆ ▇ ▋MAIN ROOM - DUBSTEP + HIP HOP ▋▇ ▆ ▅ ▃ ▂

Hosted by and special LIVE performance from:

MC ADaD - Chicago
Hip Hop - URB 25 NOW!
http://www.soundcloud.com/madadam

BIO-
Etching out the blueprint for the future of emceeing, ADaD is the next breakout artist to enter into the rap game. Championed by the likes of Exile and Madlib, he is the nexus between hip-hop’s Golden Era and the new movements derived from today’s hip-hop.

Defying lyrical gravity, beats serve as ADaD’s playground, rocking verses with a distinct musical prowess that has got the music industry on lock. Transforming his flow into his own instrument, the rising artist’s acumen behind the mic resonates an on-time swagger and compelling rhyme schemes that take unexpected direction–proving ADaD’s inexplicable gift and raw talent.

Repping Chicago’s south side, ADaD is also member of Eurolythimics, but is quickly changing the game as a solo artist coming into his own. Dubbed the next hip-hop hopeful, he thematically brings fans back to self by preaching an acceptance of who you are. Executing wordplay that mainstream hip-hop compensates for overproduction and posturing, ADaD shares stages with some of the largest names in hip-hop with party-style performances never having to compromise his art or message.

HULK (Feat. Claw -NY & Richie August -CHI)
Dubstep

http://www.furthersound.com/claw

BIO-
Hulk is a collaboration of the minds of Claw & Richie August. They were briefly introduced at the 2009 Winter Music Conference in Miami, and have recently been writing nothing but serious dance floor smashers. Both producers come from Hip Hop and Drum & Bass backgrounds, making their style unique.

Hulk has been catching the eyes and ears of artists such as Reid Speed, Reso, Borgore, Mark Instinct, TrillBass, High Rankin and DJ Lord of Public Enemy, just to name a few. Their first official release slated for Reid Speeds’ Play Me Records, containing the tracks, “See You” and “Angeldust” are set for a January launch. As both of these producers have been in the Dubstep game for a long time, they’ve managed to easily lock down HULK performances, even before the first release.

Claw emerged in Houston, Texas in 1999 at the age of 15. He was well-received from the start making contacts with the local rave DJ’s of the time. By the time he was 16, he was playing at some of Houston’s bigger underground parties and weekly events. After graduating high school, he moved to Florida to pursue music as a profession and began playing at weekly events, while studying engineering. After finishing his studies at Fullsail, Claw made his way across New York working at numerous studios with various engineers and producers. Claw then moved to Las Vegas to pursue his record label with Trillbass, in which he was a co-founder. Claw also just did an official Dubstep remix for Wu-Tang that debuted at #7 on the ITunes Hip Hop chart in November, and is back living in NY.

Richie August started mixing Drum & Bass and Hip Hop in 1998. He then started producing his own music in 2000, and worked with Chicago Hip Hop artist, “Skope The Lyrical MC”, until he was exposed to Dubstep in early 2008. It didn’t take him long before his first Dubstep release was signed to Betamorph Recordings entitled “Death Proof EP”. As soon as that EP was released, it solidified his sound in the Dubstep community as a Producer / DJ with nothing but teeth rattling bass and a Hip Hop edge… A sound which nobody has been able to imitate. As soon as you hear a new Richie August tune, you know it’s his. Since then, he’s been making beat after beat, remixing, collaborating and pushing out tracks.

Hulk has just launched their own Dubstep label, entitled BroTown Records. This new venture already has tunes signed individually from Claw and Richie August along with Mark Instinct, Druley, and their own moniker, HULK! They have played Chicago, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Kansas City and Denver all in the last month... Get ready for 2010, as these two are at the top of their game, with no end in sight.

MARK INSTINCT - Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Dubstep
http://www.furthersound.com/mark-instinct
http://www.myspace.com/instinctdadeejay

BIO-
Mark Instinct was always into the sounds of electronic music, but it wasn’t until his introduction to drum and bass, at the age of seventeen, that he decided it was time to add his own mark on music. With impeccable taste and skill sets, early bookings with Hive, Pendulum, Noisia and Tech Itch started to gain him recognition in bass circles around Western Canada.

At the age of 20 years old, when Mark Instinct started experimenting with music production, he finally found his niche. Beginning with drum and bass, and dabbling in other genres, such as house, it was the grimy stripped down sounds of Dubstep that ultimately caught his attention. Creating dark nasty beats, synonymous with the Western Canadian sound, Mark Instinct soon began to chisel out his own distinctive style imprinted on releases “Sketchy Maxx” and “Fword”.

Attention from record labels Rottun, Dubline and Aufect recordingss lead to the release of “Invader” and “Badman Sound” in 2009, tracks which were soon found on the top-ten playlists of many international DJ’s. Forthcoming “Destroyed” and the storming “15 Karat EP” are slated for release in early-mid 2010. Additionally, tracks released on Betamorph Recordings “The Humunaoid EP” & Aufect Digital’s “Love me Nots” release were featured in the top ten charts of Juno, Chemical Records, & Digital Tunes.

Ascending the steep slope of music with ease, this 23 year old is proving that 2010 will be no different. Appearances alongside Dubstep’s biggest names, a hectic tour schedule which include an appearance at Winter Music Conference “World of Drum and Bass”, remixes and collaborations with Downlink, Symbl, Ale Fillman, and releases on “Play Me”, “TrillBass Recordings”, and DJ SS’ “Formation Records”, it comes as no surprise that Mark Instinct will continue pushing musical boundaries. With tight mixing skills that have been instilled from drum and bass, melody lines of genuine electronic musicality, along with the dirty sub and mid range bass that could only be contained by Dubstep, Mark Instinct is this decade’s artist to watch.
